Brightness Wordpress Theme

Instalation:

1. Download Theme Files;
2. Upload “Brightness Theme” folder to wp-content/themes from your wordpress ftp.
3. Go to “Design” Page from your wordpress dashboard and activate it.
4. That’s it!

Usage:

After activation on your wordpress dashboard it will appear a new page called “Brightness Settings”. This page is the magic page. Here is a short tutorial about it:

1. Featured Category:

You can enable or disable this function. If you enable it you have to choose a category that will be featured. Posts published in that category will be displayed, one by one, in the head section from your website homepage.

2. Advertising Codes:

Brightness Theme is coming with 2 advertising blocks integrated. One at 300px / 250px that is displayed near the featured section on homepage + in single post and website archive and onne at 160 px / 600px displayed under the homepage sidebar. You can enable / disable this function. If you disable it advertising blocks will be hidden. If you enable it you have to paste advertising code in special text areas from this “Brightness Settings” Page.

3. News Sections:

News Sections are special sections on the homepage, under latest posts, where are displayed latest 5 posts from a certain category. You can enable or disable this function. If you enable it you have to choose what categories to be displayed as news sections on homepage by choosing “Yes” or “No” under them in “Brightness Settings” Page.

4. Post Thumbnails:

As you can see on demo website, every posts has a small thumbnail (85px width) and the featured post a bigger one (250px width). If you are writing a normal (non-featured) post you will need to add just the small thumbnail. Uploade the image (I repeat, it must be 85px in width) and copy the image url. Go down the write page in wordpress and find “Custom Fields” item. Add a new custom field like in next image with the Key “Thumbnail” and the url of the image you have just uploaded at Value.

If you are writing a featured post you will need to add the normal thumbnail + a bigger one, displayed with the post on the featured section on homepage. We add another Custom Field in the same way we did with the small thumbnail, but this time with the key “Big Thumbnail”. And that’s it.

5. Introductive Paragraph:

An introductive paragraph is displayed in single post page under the post title. It depends on you if you want to add or you don’t want to add a descriptive paragraph to your posts. If you want to do it copy the paragraph, go down in the write page and find excerpt item. Paste then the paragraph in excerpt text area.

6. Title Configuration

You can display/hide the red text from blog head or you can change it in whatever you want. Default it is displayed as “News”.
