Ndomche Summary Theme – III column version is a CSS styling theme that is built on WordPress 2.5.
Unlike the II Column Version, it has practically 3 Sidebars – 2 on the Home or Index Page and a third one the Single Post - this way what features on the home page does not necessarily feature on the Single Post. All 3 Sidebars are Widgetized.

- Even though it has III columns this version of Ndomche is even lighter, as it has no images included in the structure of the theme.
- Better ad positioning; Drop your two 160×90 ads on the header, where all can see it.

Get Ndomche III Columns !!!

1. Download and unzip the ndomche file
2. Load the ndomche folder into your “/wp-content/themes/” folder
3. Login into your WordPress - Dashboard
4. Go to the Design tab
5. Select the Ndomche Screenshot

In late April 2008, I did a Donkey Kong themed Wordpress layout with the intentions of making it into a free downloadable theme. However, as time passed, I realized that I didn’t want to give that them away free, so I attempted to make a more generic arcade game theme, on based on the games of Atari.

Well, the design ended up being pretty much only Missile Command artwork, you can only have so much arcade game artwork throughout one template without making it look too busy and poorly composed.

Instructions / Notes

Generic arcade game marquees are included with this template. Most arcade game collectors have games they like to show off, and this is a common way to link to those games. Change out your own marquees into this space, but make sure the width of the graphic you make is 155px wide. This will keep the even spacing.

You will also want to try to keep the same dimensions for width and height with all of your marquees if used. This display uses a float, so if you start to get odd shaped arcade game marquees you will start to get a stacking effect. Change to taste.

The Atari Command arcade game theme is released under GPL. All I ask is that you link back to my website somewhere in your site. Currently those links are in the footer and rest assured I can’t force you to keep those links, and won’t force your site to break like you might see in a sponsored link / Common Share license agreement.

This theme was based around another Wordpress theme, so it is well tested but I am sure that there will be some small changes along the way to make this theme a little better. This is my first free theme, so I have some things to learn I am sure.

I will be interested to hear feedback, but since this is a free thing I don’t know how much time I will spend truly ’supporting’ it. Some knowledge of HTML and cross browser compatibility using CSS layout will be assumed.

Brightness Wordpress Theme

“Brightnews Wordpress Theme” comes up with 3 big features: 1. It’s magazine style, 2. It’s Free and 3. It’s noob ready. Usualy magazine style themes are “premium” themes so you need to pay up to $79 just for personal use, for “Brightnews” you just click.

Instalation:

1. Download Theme Files;
2. Upload “Brightness Theme” folder to wp-content/themes from your wordpress ftp.
3. Go to “Design” Page from your wordpress dashboard and activate it.
4. That’s it!

Usage:

After activation on your wordpress dashboard it will appear a new page called “Brightness Settings”. This page is the magic page. Here is a short tutorial about it:

1. Featured Category:

You can enable or disable this function. If you enable it you have to choose a category that will be featured. Posts published in that category will be displayed, one by one, in the head section from your website homepage.

2. Advertising Codes:

Brightness Theme is coming with 2 advertising blocks integrated. One at 300px / 250px that is displayed near the featured section on homepage + in single post and website archive and onne at 160 px / 600px displayed under the homepage sidebar. You can enable / disable this function. If you disable it advertising blocks will be hidden. If you enable it you have to paste advertising code in special text areas from this “Brightness Settings” Page.

3. News Sections:

News Sections are special sections on the homepage, under latest posts, where are displayed latest 5 posts from a certain category. You can enable or disable this function. If you enable it you have to choose what categories to be displayed as news sections on homepage by choosing “Yes” or “No” under them in “Brightness Settings” Page.

4. Post Thumbnails:

As you can see on demo website, every posts has a small thumbnail (85px width) and the featured post a bigger one (250px width). If you are writing a normal (non-featured) post you will need to add just the small thumbnail. Uploade the image (I repeat, it must be 85px in width) and copy the image url. Go down the write page in wordpress and find “Custom Fields” item. Add a new custom field like in next image with the Key “Thumbnail” and the url of the image you have just uploaded at Value.

If you are writing a featured post you will need to add the normal thumbnail + a bigger one, displayed with the post on the featured section on homepage. We add another Custom Field in the same way we did with the small thumbnail, but this time with the key “Big Thumbnail”. And that’s it.

5. Introductive Paragraph:

An introductive paragraph is displayed in single post page under the post title. It depends on you if you want to add or you don’t want to add a descriptive paragraph to your posts. If you want to do it copy the paragraph, go down in the write page and find excerpt item. Paste then the paragraph in excerpt text area.

6. Title Configuration

You can display/hide the red text from blog head or you can change it in whatever you want. Default it is displayed as “News”.

The Conceditor WP Pixels Theme is my seventh free theme for the WordPress Community to use as see fit. Modify it, change it, colorize it — do what you like, but keep the copyright information in the footer intact (you may move my copyright notice down below the footer as long as it remains intact with link and all if you feel that you need to use all of the footer space for your own stuff). Installation

1. Get yourself a copy of WordPress 2.5.1 (or later) and install it.

2. Install the theme WP Pixels.

3. Create your categories and change accordingly in the index.php file.

4. Create a page for your normal blog and choose the Blog template.

You´re finished.

Using Custom Fields

For the page loop images on all pages uses Custom Fields. The key for the large image must be set to “Image” (without the citation characters and with a capital “I”) and the value is simply the name of your image.

Like this: Key: Image and Value: name-of-image.jpg.

For the smaller images the key is “Small”.

The pictures should be uploaded to the folder “featured” in the WP Pixels template folder. If you want your images elsewhere you need to change the paths in each of the instances that call for the images in the file structure. Find this:

bloginfo(’template_url’); ?>/featured/

and change to whatever place you like on your server. But why should you?

Different browsers

The WP Pixels theme works just fine on Firefox, Flock, Opera, Netscape, Safari and IE Explorer (I have not tested on IE 8, though). But, feel free to report bugs as well as solutions here. Creds will go into the stylesheet file.
